Sydney Sixers (2016-17): The Second title of the WBBL was won by SYDNEY SIXERS (season one runners) over the PERTH SCORCHERS Women team on 28th January 2017 at Perth Cricket ground. In this match Sarah Aley was elected as the Player of the Match for her outstanding performance with ball, she took 4 wickets in 4.0 overs with 5.75 economy rate. Brisbane Heat Women bats-women Beth Mooney was selected as the Player of the Series, she scored 482 runs in 15 matches at an average of 43.71.




Women’s Big Bash League Season 3 (2017-18) Winner: Sydney Sixers

Sydney Sixers (2017-18): The 3rd season of the Women Big bash League winner is the last time champions SYDNEY SIXERS team over last season runner PERTH SCORCHERS women team. This time again the Perth Scorchers and the Sydney Sixers met in the final and the result was same too.

2017/19 season Women Big Bash league final match is Sydney Sixers team totally domination with both the ball and bat.Batting first, the Perth Scorchers were all out for 99 runs in 20 overs. The Sydney Sixers scored the runs in just 15 over with 9 wickets in hand. Brisbane Heat (2018-19): The fourth title of the WBBL was won by BRISBANE HEAT women over the PERTH SCORCHERS Women team on 26th January 2019 at Sydney Cricket ground. In this match Beth Mooney representing Brisbane Heat Women team was Selected as the Player of the Match for her outstanding performance with bat, She scored 65 runs in just 46 balls with the help of 9 fours. Ellyse Perry representing Sydney Sixers Women team was selected as the Player of the Series, she scored unbelievable 777 runs in 16 matches at an average of 86.31. She smashed 2 centuries in this season.

Women’s Big Bash League Season 5 (2019) Winner: Who will be winner?

The 5th season is going on now and all the teams are fighting very hard to get the top spot so it’s very tough to predict a winner now. West Indies announce squads for upcoming Afghanistan series

West Indies Cricket Board (CWI) on Tuesday announced the squads for the upcoming Afghanistan series. Both teams will play three T20Is, three ODIs, and a Test at Dehradun in India between November 5 and December 1.

Windies star all-rounder Kieron pollard will lead the limited-overs game for the absent from all formats of the game while Jason Holder will take the longest format.




 

Brandon King and Hayden Walsh Jr, the leading run-scorer and wicket-taker in the recently concluded Caribbean Premier League (CPL), both were picked in the ODI and T20I squad.

Phil Simmons Appointed As West Indies Men's Cricket Team Head Coach

Philip Verant Simmons is a former Trinidadian cricketer and former player of the West Indies national cricket team as an all-rounder.  Simmons played as an opening batsman, a medium-fast bowler, and a slip fielder.

After him retiring from the playing, Simmons started as a coach. He was first appointed as the head coach to the Zimbabwe cricket team in 2004 after that Simmons succeeded Adrian Birrell as coach of the Ireland national cricket team after the 2007 ICC Cricket World Cup.



Simmons significantly improved Ireland’s standing in world cricket as their coach. Under his led Ireland cricket team won 11 trophies, qualified for every major ICC event while achieved memorable victories against Pakistan and Bangladesh at the 2007 World Cup, England at the 2011 World Cup as well as the West Indies and Zimbabwe at the 2015 World Cup.

In 2015 he was appointed as his national team and he has a proven ability to develop players, in 2016 he led the West Indies team to a historic second T20 world cup victory in India.

In 2017 Simmions was appointed as the batting coach for Afghanistan national cricket team and later on, was appointed as the head coach. Recently he was named as the coach of the Brampton Wolves franchise team for the 2019 Global T20 Canada tournament.



In his ODI career in for West Indies national cricket team, he scored 3675 and averaged 35.61 with the bat and 28.68 with the ball, took 83 wickets while played 26 tests and scored 1002 runs at an average of 22.26 with the bat, 64.25 with the ball.

“Bringing Phil Simmons back is not just righting a past wrong, but I am confident that CWI has chosen the right man for the job at the right time. I want to also thank the very talented Floyd Reifer for the hard work he put in while he was the interim coach,” said Ricky Skerritt, the CWI president.

Simmons guided the West Indies to the World Twenty20 title in 2016 but was sacked five months later.

Indian former opening batsman Gautham Gambhir rates Virat Kolhi is better Test Captain than Sourav Ganguly and Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

“If you are scared of losing, you will never win and probably that’s the biggest plus he has, he isn’t scared of losing,” Gambhir said in the post-match show.




 

Indian Test Cricket team Captain, Virat Kohli led India to an innings and 137-run win within the 3rd match test series against South Africa in Pune on Sunday. “He’s taken that risk, which a lot of other captains have not been able to take. The others always wanted an extra battery so that they don’t lose the test match. Whereas, Virat is the only captain who has gone abroad and played with five bowlers, with Hardik Pandya being an all-rounder,” Gambhir said.




 

Kohli, who became the first Indian captain to win a Test series in Australia, said that his team has “hunger” to keep improving.

As far as the Test Championship is concerned, India consolidated its position at the top of the table with 200 points after 4 wins including 2 wins over South Africa and 2 wins against West Indies.

Next Match will play on 19th October at JSCA International Stadium Complex, Ranchi.

Sourav Ganguly to be new BCCI president

Former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly will be appointed as new BCCI President while Union Minister Amit Shah’s son Jay Shah will be the new secretary and Arun Dhumal will be the new treasurer for BCCI (The Board of Control for Cricket in India). Dhumal is the younger brother of MoS Finance and former BCCI president Anurag Thakur.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is the national governing body for cricket in India. The board was formed in December 1928 as a society, registered under the Tamil Nadu Societies Registration Act.



Ganguly is currently the president of the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB). However, when most of the state units opposed the ‘under opposed the ‘understanding’, things changed dramatically.

“Yes, Brijesh was running for the President’s post with N Srinivasan actively lobbying for him. However, there was stiff resistance against him. We are happy Sourav is the new President,” a senior official from North East affiliated unit, told PTI.

Former India coach Anshuman Gaekwad beat Kirti Azad to be elected as a male ICA representative on BCCI’s nine-member Apex Council.

India vs South Africa 2nd Test: India defeated South Africa by an innings and 137 runs in the second Test match on Sunday at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium.

This is India’s 11th consecutive victory on home soil and also record for most consecutive series win at home (2012-13 to present) beating Australia’s record 10 (1994-45 to 2000-01).




 

With this record winnings record; India took a 2-0 lead against South Africa in the 3 test series and also India became the first team to enforce the follow-on on South Africa after 2008.

It was the fourth straight win in as many tests in the World Test Championship for India who also won 2-0 in West Indies.

The Caribbean Premier League (CPLT20) is an annual Twenty20 cricket tournament held in the Caribbean. It was created in 2013 and replaced the Caribbean Twenty20 as the premier Twenty20 competition in the Caribbean

Barbados Tridents won the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) for the second time as they trounced Guyana Amazon Warriors by 27 runs in the CPL final on Saturday in Trinidad. This is the first lost their fifth final after 11 consecutive wins.




 

This is the second Hero Caribbean Premier League (CPL) title of Barbados Tridents won theirs while Guyana Amazon Warriors’ perfect season unraveled at the worst possible moment.

Sachin Tendulkar (1989 – 2013): Indian legend Master Blaster, Sachin Tendulkar is placed at the top position in the list of who scored highest runs in Test for India.  Sachin scored 15,921 runs in a total of 329 innings in 200 matches.

Tendulkar has the record for the most centuries in Tests with 51 centuries. He started his Test career against Pakistan in 1989 and played his last test match against West Indies in 2013.




 

Rahul Dravid (1989 –2013): In the list of players who have scored more runs in Test Cricket for India Right-handed batsman Rahul Dravid is in second place. Dravid has scored 13,288 runs in his 16 year-long Test career from 1996 to 2012.

He scored 13,288 runs in 164 matches. He has 36 Test hundreds as well as 63 fifties in his test career. Rahul played his first test in 1996 against England as well as the last match against Australia in 2012.

Sunil Gavaskar (1971–1987): Sunil Gavaskar is the 3rd most runs scorer in the Tests for India. He scored 10,122 runs in 125 tests. He has 34 hundred and 45 half-centuries. 236* is his highest runs in his Test career.

VVS Laxman (1996 – 2012): In the list of players who have scored more runs in Test cricket for India right-handed batsman VVS Laxman is in fourth place. VVS has scored 8781 runs in his 16 years long ODI career from 1996 to 2012.




 

Virender Sehwag (2001–2013): In the list of players who have scored more runs in Test Cricket for India Right-handed batsman Sehwag is in fifth place. He has scored 8586 runs in his Test career from 2001 to 2013.

Sourav Ganguly (1996 – 2008): In the list of players who have scored most runs in Test cricket for India, Sourav Ganguly is the sixth player.  He is a left-handed batsman and former Indian captain. Sourav Ganguly has scored 7212 runs in his 12 year-long Test career from 1996 to 2008.

Virat Kohli (2011 – 2019*): Virat Kohli is the only current player to scoring 7000 runs in Test cricket in the Indian cricket team. Virat is the seventh-highest scorer in the Test Cricket for India. He scored 7054 runs in 81 matches. Kohli has 26 hundred, 7 double hundreds and 22 half-centuries.

Dilip Vengsarkar (1976 –1992): Dilip Vengsarkar is the eight most runs scorer in Test cricket for India with 6868 runs in 116 matches. He has 17 centuries and 35 half-centuries in his 16 years test career.




 

Mohammad Azharuddin (1985 – 2000): Mohammad Azharuddin is the ninth high scorer in Test Cricket. He scored 6215 runs in a total of 99 Tests.  He has 22 hundred and 21 half-centuries in his Test career. 199 is his highest score in Tests.

Gundappa Viswanath (1983-1969): Gundappa Viswanath is the tenth most runs scorer in the Test cricket for India. He scored 6080 runs in 91 tests. He has 14 centuries and 35 half-centuries, 222 is his highest score in the test cricket.
