Jason Roy is honored to receive Test cap from Sir Alastair Cook

England star opener Jason Roy took to Twitter and said that it was an honor to receive the Test cap from England’s legendary batsman Sir Alastair Cook in the only Test against Ireland. Roy was also included in the upcoming Ashes series squad against visitors Australia.

Roy’s debut Test match, he played an innings of 5 and 72 against Ireland, in which England won by 143 runs.

Jason Roy was one of the key player England’s first0ever 50-over World Cup victory. England defeated New Zealand on the basis of boundary count-back rule. In this mega event, Roy scored 443 runs in just seven innings.

Roy took to Twitter and wrote, “What an honor it was to receive my cap from this legend. Big boots to fill.”

Australia pace bowler Josh Hazlewood has cranked up the pressure on Jason Roy ahead of the Ashes.

“We’ll see how Roy goes in Test cricket. He has only played one Test match and it’s a lot different opening the batting in a Test than a one-day game, that’s for sure,” said Hazlewood.

” Roy can resolve Test side’s top order, which has been their Achilles heel “for the last six or seven years,” England coach Trevor Bayliss said.
